I completely agree, but surely you see how assuming it was a man and then using that assumption to fuel a rant about “what happens when advancing men are met with a confident female voice,” involving lewd comments (“your desire to shove your dick in between my legs and have me obediently obey your will”) is kinda bad.

I mean it is baseless assumptions like that which fuel sexism and racism, perhaps if we stop making assumptions and using them to fuel hatred towards a gender/race we wouldn’t have so many issues in the world. A bomb goes off and people scream ‘arab,’ someone says ‘show us your tits’ and you yell ‘men are rapist, manipulative scum.’ This does not help the world, this just draws unnecessary, dividing and ultimately damaging lines in the sand.

You are completely correct, you should not accept this kind of treatment laying down, but you also certainly shouldn’t direct your anger towards a party that may ultimately be innocent.

(it should be noted I mean ‘rant’ in its actual definition of speaking out in an ‘impassioned way,’ the term is not meant in any derogative fashion)
